The One&Only Cape Town is Calling

One&Only Resort, Cape Town, South Africa

Cape Town is calling. In the heart of the South African capital, One&Only sets the benchmark for luxury and hospitality. The 5-star resort is nestled in a tranquil enclave between the roaring Atlantic Ocean and the natural beauty of Table Mountain. It’s surrounded by winding waterways and the oldest working harbor in the Southern Hemisphere, with the iconic mixed-use Victoria and Alfred Waterfront just minutes away. With a coveted location, the resort affords access to a myriad of experiences, from bathing at nearby beaches and embarking on African safaris, to exploring the world-renowned Cape wine region.

An understated sandstone entryway welcomes guests into the airy Vista Lounge and Bar, the social heart of the retreat, which blends contemporary décor with South African-inspired artwork and serves high tea, light meals, and cocktails in style. Triple-volume windows display the lush property and mountain peaks behind the bar, while a consistent wood fragrance hangs in the atmosphere. Developed by acclaimed interior designer Adam D. Tihany, the spaces at One&Only are meant to ground you in a sense of local culture and the distinctive energy of the destination.

Rooms & Suites

One&Only Cape Town suites are certainly the largest in the city. Each features capacious interiors, modern furnishings, and private balconies overlooking the marina and mountains. The extravagant Presidential Suite features two bedrooms, a generous living space, a dining table for twelve, and a separate media room across 383 square meters. Enveloping the lavish residence are floor-to-ceiling windows and a vast balcony showcasing captivating views of the Cape. Twin en suite bathrooms provide a steam room, an oval-shaped, stone tub, and views of their own. The room also features private butler service, a personal chef, and a connecting room for even more space.

However, the resort's ultimate residence, Devil's Peak Penthouse, makes the Presidential Suite look like a modest abode. Preposterously expansive, this luxury accommodation includes four bedrooms, several interior living spaces, and a massive outdoor terrace over 1,275 square meters and three floors. The library, study, and gym are situated on the first floor, while the kitchens and dining areas are located on the second. The first level deck boasts an infinity pool, outdoor shower, and bar, with the second level claiming its own pool, terrace, and entertainment area. The overall layout is open-plan, as lofty windows suffuse the penthouse in natural light. Displaying a chic, contemporary aesthetic, it includes an impressive art collection, a grand staircase with glass balustrade, fireplaces, and a black grand piano.

Resort Island

On the exclusive Spa Island, surrounded by a palm-lined sundeck, charming streams, and dense verdure, guests can relax and recharge in one of twelve treatment rooms, a steam room, a sauna, or a scenic relaxation room. Outside, a 350 square meter infinity pool is encircled by shaded trellis pavilions and double chaise lounges. The Spa uses solely ESPA products and even includes private couples' villas and a salon with a mani-pedi studio. In addition to an extensive fitness center, a connected yoga studio hosts regular Pilates classes in light-filled spaces.

Nobu

Among the resorts, many marvels are its world-class dining at the only Nobu in Africa. The iconic Asian fusion chain showcases a cosmopolitan buzz and an ultramodern design with matte blacks, large circles, and elaborate lighting fixtures. Towering windows accent the space with gold sunshine and expose stunning vistas of Table Mountain. Michelin-starred master chef, Nobuyuki Matsuhisa leads the kitchen, blending Japanese classics with Peruvian and South African flavors to curate cutting-edge cuisine.

Wine

Cape Town is widely recognized as one of the finest wine-producing regions in the world. Led by Head Sommelier Ludo Ntezo, the hotel shares its balanced and diverse wine collections with curious guests, casual wine lovers, and other sommeliers alike. Beginning in the resort's Wine Studio, an exclusive, sophisticated setting, the "Wine Wits and Studio Smarts" experience presents a brief tour of the resort's offerings. This is subsequently followed by a savory South African cheese and wine tasting, emphasizing five prestigious vintages from local wine farms. The studio also offers guests an opportunity to create their own signature blends, as well as to enjoy insightful discussions with Ntezo and other sommeliers.
