Kenoa Resort, Barra De Sao Miguel, Brazil
Just twenty miles south of Maceio, on the corner of Brazil's eastern coastline, Kenoa Resort conveys luxury through its earthly beauty and impressive detail. The exclusive resort is situated between the warm Atlantic Ocean and an expansive tropical jungle, claiming its own private beach that extends for miles. Just nine degrees from the equator and privileged with a year-round single season, the regional climate presents an invariably pleasant sea water temperature. Architect Osvoldo Tenorio carefully designed this remote escape to evoke an eco-chic aesthetic inspired by nature's essence and primitive forms. The hotel grounds perfectly blend with lush verdure to create a balanced, natural environment. Kenoa's impeccable service is best characterized as residential luxury, executed by highly trained attendants that subtly and promptly fulfill your every desire, while making your stay feel intimate yet unintrusive. Whether you’re floating in either of the resorts large infinity pools overlooking the turquoise waters or enjoying a sublime respite at the wellness sanctuary, the general atmosphere is tranquil and serene; a world-class setting only a fortunate few can experience.
Suites & Villas
Tenorio's application of natural materials and rustic motifs continue in its 23 suites and villas, where panoramic ocean views are standard luxuries for each room. The Apoena suite, positioned high above the nearby reserve with vistas of the Atlantic, comprises 45 square meters divided into a bedroom, bathroom, interior garden and a terrace bearing a Japanese ufuro tub made of refined, aromatic cedar wood. The Araxa, however, provides two personal spaces: one facing the reserve, and the other facing the sea, while a terrace and two queen beds with open concept bathrooms compose 63 square meters.
Kenoa Beach Villas have three typologies: Kenoa, Jaobi and Marajó. Each face the majestic ocean and feature private, infinity-edge plunge pools fashioned from Balinese stone. Kenoa villas feature direct beach access, a Japanese uuro tub, veranda and a private garden across 200 square meters, while the Jaobi constitutes 78 square meters and includes a wine cellar. Finally, the Marajo, a total of 70, boasts a terrace garden, exterior show and a wine cellar of its own.
Gastronomy & Social Settings
There's only one restaurant in the Kenoa Resort, but it certainly makes an impression. Under the supervision of internationally recognized Chef Cesar Santos, Kaamo Restaurant is designed as the foci of the hotel, showcasing exotic décor, sea vistas through unblemished, floor-to-ceiling windows and truly original gastronomy. Nearby, the Kaamo wine bar hosts connoisseurs amid a thematic social setting. Nine meters above the grounds, built on an expansive terrace, the Kaamo lounge claims one of the best sunset spots at Kenoa and welcomes guests with low tables, cozy couches and copious, overstuffed pillows.
Though most guests are perfectly content lounging beneath the palm trees and among the abundant greenery, Kenoa affords access to rare experiences and one-of-a-kind adventures, each centered around the natural world. In addition to the obvious surfing and kite surfing, for which the resort provides instructors, guests can snorkel, scuba dive and explore colorful coral reefs; ride a speedboat to Barro de Sao Miguel's mangroves, lagoons, islands and deserted beaches; journey to the stunning Sao Francisco River mouth to glimpse gorgeous waterfalls and infinite trails or take a canoe to a remote oyster nursery for an in-water tasting. You can even go horseback riding along the endless beach.
